I like to challenge myself in every painting.
This time the still life is placed against the bright light coming from the window behind. The wooden louvers add to the minimalistic look of the painting: crisscrossing with vertical columns of the Siberian irises in the center. I struggled to keep this piece looking fresh- and not overworked- and am very pleased with the result. These are my favorite flowers that I grow in my garden: huge magenta blossoms from Chinese peony trees, Japanese Snowball bush cascading branches and the deep purple Siberian Irises.

It is much easier to ship without a frame and if you would like a discount of $100, you can easily find a frame of your liking in Hobby Lobby chain store for a much lesser price.
