My beautiful Ukrainian niece, tall and lanky, came to visit and of course she had to pose for me. She has been my model since 7 years old. I still have an early small painting of her with an iron, called “Morning chores”. The world certainly changed: young people can travel across the borders and oceans for businesses or leisure-something my Soviet generation and older could not possibly do.
